The run off election for the Texas Republican Party Primary is on Tuesday April 13th. As I’ve mentioned on my blog before, I’m supporting Will Hurd. I encourage you to support him as well. I hope those of you who live in the US 23rd Congressional district will go out and vote (if you have not early voted). Remember; if you voted in the Democratic primary, you cannot vote in Tuesday’s run-off. If you voted in the Republican primary last month, you can vote again this month (even if you did not vote for Will Hurd). Lastly, if you haven’t voted in any of the primaries, you may vote in Tuesday’s run-off.
I support Will because we agree on the issues, ranging from taxes and economic growth and jobs, to national defense, military readiness and the wars we are still waging, to national security and border protection. He is pro-life and so am I. He does not support “Obama-Care” and neither do I. He is a strong conservative and so am I. What I know more than anything is that a great many of you support conservative issues and principles, but for some reason have not found yourselves comfortable voting for Republicans. To quote the Obama campaign, it is time for “Change we can believe in”.
By sending good solid conservatives to Washington and by having them to stick to conservative principles we can save the country … wait, what I should say is we can save our government from itself. This government has lost its way, is out of control, and is power mad. Now is the time for Americans to set aside wedge issues that are meant to turn us against one and other and come together to send men and women to Washington D.C. that respect the Constitution and basic American principles and values. I believe that Will Hurd is just that kind of individual.
I had a friendly conversation with a gentleman a few weeks ago, a Democrat. He asked me why I would support Will over Francisco Canseco. We exchanged ideas, but in the end I told him this, “if Will was able to get terrorist to work with the U.S., I think he can get Democrats to work with us, too”. He looked at me and said, “ that’s a good point”. Some of you may not know that Will was in the CIA and served our country in Afghanistan and in other dangerous counties. I know that once Will goes to Washington, with his background and personal biography that the other members of Congress will be receptive of him. Will has strong leadership and organizational skills, has great judgment and character assessment instincts, and he follows a strong moral and ethical compass … as he has shown with his campaign style. Will Hurd will be a great Congressman, I hope you will consider voting for Will over Mr. Canseco on Tuesday and again in November against Ciro Rodriguez.
There you have it.
Pass it along if you like or let me know if I don’t have a clue.
