Dear Family & Friends,
The last time I sent out an e-mail to you, I warned that we would have to be vigilant toward or new Democrat-controlled government. My biggest fear was that our American culture would be under attack. In another e-mail I said that the Democrat party had far too many socialist and communist tendencies (I should also have included fascist).
We now have a government that, in less than a year, has taken control of banking and investment companies, auto companies, and is headed full-on to taking control of the health care system. But they won’t stop there - there are other targets in their sites.
Some may wonder why there has been such a passionate reaction toward the health care takeover. I wasn’t surprised by the reaction. When the government began the bailouts last year, Americans were concerned but did not feel threatened. We’ve gotten used to the political back and forth on budgets, deficits and national debt and, for the most part, we do not feel effected. It’s not that we are not affected, but we have simply learned to accept it. With healthcare, all Americans - young and old, rich and poor, black and white - all feel threatened. I believe that now enough of us know – Democrat, Republican, liberals, conservatives, and moderates - that there is a movement afoot in Washington to take control and dictate our actions, choices and lives. Where is the best place to begin: HEALTHCARE. Who can argue about providing healthcare to everyone? It sounds wonderful. If you do argue against it you’re called selfish, cruel, and uncaring. Some will even say that you are racist if you do not agree with the President. Never mind that government healthcare just seems un-American. It hasn’t worked well in other countries and yet communist dictators sing the praises of it.
We are being threatened from within by our federal government with subjugation through healthcare. Liberty and freedom are under attack in a way that many Americans feel cannot be stopped. We have a media that will not report honestly about our descent. Members of congress dismiss our concerns as “not a true sampling of the American people”. Many believe that the country will be forever CHANGED. A change that we do not support, that cannot succeed, and will be difficult to correct. Healthcare has helped us to discover the true intention of Democrats in Washington.
