I’ve done something I hadn’t done with my blog before: respond to another’s blog posting … and up to this point I haven’t written a two part blog … so here is Part II.
Having a Black President in the United States is neither a blessing or a curse … it is simply the result of a regular occurrence that happens here every 4 to 8 years (we get to pick a new one). A President, no matter who they are, cannot be a blessing or a curse simply by their being … not even Barrack Obama. It is clear to me that any President may become one or the other (a blessing or a curse). Primarily, the times mold the President … Presidents seldom mold the times. There are exceptions like George Washington and Ronald Reagan … but not many.
Mr. Obama is not a messiah (even though Louis Farrakhan said he is) and he is not the smartest man to have ever run for and held the office. If he does not wake up and right the course he’s heading down, then he will become a curse. The national debt is already a curse we’ve been handed. Nationalizing private companies is a curse and radically changing health care will be a curse. I won’t blame him alone for those things…he’s had the support of Congressional Democrats along the way (the majority of which are not Black).
In her blog, Black President: Blessing or Curse?, she accuses Caucasians of fighting the President on “every turn” and “as a matter of fact, it is every Republican in addition to Caucasians that have a problem with the way this country is currently being run”. She could not be more wrong … painting Whites with such a broad brush discounts all of them that do support the President and the Democrats wrong-headed plans. If she were to study election polls, she would even find out that “rednecks”, “uneducated”, and “ignorant” Caucasians voted for Mr. Obama in high numbers. How arrogant!
The writer and President Obama himself have complained that he inherited an economy in crisis, with overwhelming debt, and huge deficits. Last I heard, Mr. Obama was a sitting Senator and a member of the majority party controlling Congress when the budgets, the bailouts, and the failed stimulus packages were passed … he voted in favor of them all. That (to my mind) means that he not only did not inherit those problems he helped create them and the circumstances that lead to them.
It is disheartening when we hear of this kind of dribble coming from an educated American of any race or ethnicity. She helps reinforce the position Rush Limbaugh has taken on his radio program: that President Obama’s supporters will use race as a battering ram on anyone that opposes his and the Democrats’ policies or that points out their shortcomings and failures. Rush is right … and her blog proves it. That in itself should cause her to do some rethinking. Hopefully, she will discover that she lives in the greatest country on earth for anyone Red, Black, Brown, Yellow, or White to live in and pursue happiness.
There you have it.

Black President: Blessing or Curse
I’m having trouble with something … a friend sent me a blog link that I found disturbing: a blog titled Black President: Blessing or Curse?. The writer (a woman of African-American descent) made this statement, “we have finally reached the pinnacle of historic events to where a blatant racist society has finally opted to elect a black president”. I don’t agree with her. A blatant racist society would never, never elect a President of a different race…ever! Why would it? … that should be blatantly clear to anyone. But, alas, we are not a blatant racist society or country … or perhaps she doesn’t know the meaning of the word. I’ve read and re-read her blog, but I have not found the blessing part of having Mr. Obama as President in it (maybe she’s still working on that … or waiting for some blessings to occur).
According to my friend, the lady is very nice, well educated, and is pursuing her doctoral degree on a full scholarship. (Now would a blatant racist society really allow that?) I don’t support President Obama … does that make me a racist? No, it doesn’t. I don’t support him on the issues. I also think he has a poor decision making ability and is a terrible judge of character … but most of all, I don’t align with his political philosophy. I wonder what her stance would be if our President were J.C. Watts or Allen Keyes (the man that ran against Obama for U.S. Senate) or even Colin Powell? Heaven forbid a person of Black or Hispanic descent should be a Republican or (greater still) conservative. I think what would happen is exactly what we saw happen to Sarah Palin. She did not receive support from women’s groups or hard line feminists because she did not fit their ideal of a feminist. President Obama does not fit my ideal of a U.S. president.
She made this reference contrasting President Obama vs. President Bush by stating that Bush “allowed for Katrina victims to wallow in their own vomit, feces and urine as if we were still on slave ships. Do you think President Obama would stand by and let his people suffer in a state of emergency of that magnitude if it were to occur now?” I’m not sure what she means by “his people” … I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she means Americans in general. She must have forgotten that Whites, Hispanics, and elderly people were left behind as well. Doesn’t Ray Nagin share some responsibility for not successfully evacuating the city before hand? … or how about Governor Blanco’s inaction? … nope – it’s all Bush’s fault. If given the opportunity, all I would say to her is what General Honore said at the time: “don’t get stuck on stupid.”
She talks about hateful cartoons of President Obama and of assassination attempts. Mr. Bush had plenty of those … there was even a movie made about assassinating him. I found her position off-base and out of step with where we are today as a nation. I don’t think that she has a good foundation to build an argument on. She is entitled to her opinion (however wrong I think it may be), but I’m not sure I’d be the only one that thinks she’s wrong. I’ve included a link to her blog at the end of this posting so that you can read it (if only to find out what some people are thinking). Sadly, I’m sure there are more out there like her.
There you have it.
Pass it along if you like or let me know if I don’t have a clue.

The War On Christmas
The war on Christmas is alive and well. Even though we do not see merry x-mas signs every where in stores and shopping centers anymore, the war is on. In some places it is subtle while in others it is outright and disrespectful. It is alive and well in government, our public schools and colleges, as well as with social liberals, atheists, and agnostics.
What brings this up, you might ask? A friend of mine received a call at work one morning from his son at school (I’m leaving out his name even though he said I could use it here) … his son called to ask his Dad if he could watch a movie. Surprised by the question, he asked his son why he was calling him for permission, and just what movie was it that required a call. Actually it was three movies … he needed his permission to watch.....now hold your breath…the Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol , and worst of all…….How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Horrible isn’t it? … at least it wasn’t The Exorcist, JAWS, or Debbie Does Dallas! Astonished by the question and answers he received from his son (and after giving his son’s teacher the go-ahead on the movies), he hung up the phone, looked over at us and said, “I don’t know if I should laugh at this stupid call or get pissed off”.
Well, needless to say, that telephone call reinforced my view that the war on Christmas is alive and well here in the United States. I thought it was more prevalent in Northeastern states or California … or in places known to be more progressive … but it’s not. This happened in South Texas and it is shocking to me. I hate to make all things political (even though I write this blog for that reason), but I’ll ask you to ask yourself; who is it that brings on these moronic movements? Is it Democrats or Republicans? Be honest… it is not Republicans … it is by Democrats, liberals, communist, and those on the left.
I know that there is not solely a war on Christmas, it is actually a much broader war to marginalize Christians and Christianity in our country. We have a President that recently said to an international body (and in front of Muslins) that we are no longer a Christian country, but a country of laws. How does that differentiate the United States from other lesser nations? … after all, every nation can proclaim they are a nation of laws. Iran, China, North Korea, Pakistan, and Mexico can make that claim. Never mind that in every village, town, city, county and state you will find a Christian church of one denomination or another. Often there are churches next to churches. Catholic churches are near Baptist churches, Methodist churches are near Lutheran churches. Guess what happens after services are over at these churches? … they do not come out shooting. No, they lunch together, work together, play together and best of all govern together … so how can Mr. Obama claim that we are not a Christians nation. What we are is a Christian nation that is not just for Christians … anyone can be an American.
Over 80% of Americans claim they are Christian. This is far greater than the 52-53% that put Mr. Obama into office … and yet he claims we are not a Christian nation any more. Exactly what country does he think he lives in? … the United States or the United Emirates? I’ll bet some of that 52-53% disagree that we are no longer a Christian nation.
So why the battle over Christmas? Is it because at Christmas time Christians hi-jack planes to fly them into buildings, or is it that we run around dancing wildly killing, burning, and beheading nonbelievers in the streets, or is it because we stand in the way of fundamental change? A funny thing happens in wars….the attacked will fight back.
Christmas time in America has always been a happy time of year. It comes in winter when spirits need lifting. It comes for the faithful and nonbelievers alike … that is the wonder of Christmas, that is because of the wonderfulness of Christ.
There you have it.

A Call To Arms
Even though there is not large popular support for greater government involvement in healthcare, the Democrats are marching on toward it. Stop and think for a moment … we’ve seen rally after rally and town hall meeting after town hall meeting against government healthcare. The Tea Party movement picked up steam because the Democrats and President Obama are forcing the issue onto Americans. What we haven’t seen are rallies and meetings in support of it. I have been to a Tea Party and I know people that have been to Tea Parties … while most of the attendees do not support Democrats or did not vote for Mr. Obama, a lot of them did vote for Mr. Obama … and they say this is not the change they anticipated from Obama and the Democrats.
Democrats lay claim to championing the needs of the poor and minorities. Currently there is a large minority of Republicans, and Independents on Capital Hill that do not support government run healthcare. We do not see large minority groups or poor people holding marches and rallies supporting goverment healthcare anywhere in the streets of our cities and towns ... what we do see is a ruling class forcing their will … a will that will bankrupt the country and restrict healthcare - not expand it. The Democrats are tyrants and bullies … they believe that only they have the correct answers to our problems … yet it has been mostly Democratic policies approved by Congress for the last 80 years that brings us to this chapter in our history. We cannot be fooled into believing that the last eight years under George W. Bush got us here … if you and I were to buy that, then we would have to believe that the American revolution was fought for selfish reasons and not to remove tyrannical British oppression from the colonies.
We have to understand that the Democrats in Washington DC are in fact tyrants, I’ve heard it called soft tyranny. Mark Levin (talk radio host, attorney, and author) in his best selling book Liberty and Tyranny states: “The modern Liberal believes in the supremacy of the state, thereby rejecting the principles of the Declaration and the order of the civil society, in whole or part. For the Modern Liberal, the individual’s imperfection and personal pursuits impede the objective of a utopian state. In this, Modern Liberalism promotes what French historian Alexis de Tocqueville described as a soft tyranny, which becomes increasingly more oppressive, potentially leading to a hard tyranny (some form of totalitarianism). As the word ‘liberal’ is, in its classical meaning, the opposite of authoritarian, it is more accurate, therefore, to characterize the Modern Liberal as a Statist.” I believe Mark Levin is correct. Thomas Jefferson said “when the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people there is liberty.” I’ll ask you whom should we fear? The Democrats that are forcing their will onto us with a narrow majority … or normal everyday Americans that want a responsible government that is accountable to us, we the people.
Our government has saddled the country with a suffocating debt that is unsustainable. Thomas Paine wrote in his pamphlet Common Sense “extending millions for the sake of getting a few vile acts repealed.... is unworthy the charge, and is using posterity with the utmost cruelty; because it is leaving them the great work to do, and a debt upon their backs, from which they derive no advantage.” It is cruel to acquire debt and expect others to pay for it … only a tyrant would do such a thing (in our case it is a ruling party of tyrants). The bailouts have not bailed us out, the promised stimulus has not occurred. How arrogant it is for our President to give himself a B- grade and at the same time call the bankers he worked to bail out Fat Cats when he is feeding them! Government borrowed money to save powerful influential forces at the expense of the nation.
Are we headed to a Dictatorship of the proletariat that Marxist believe must come before communism can take root? Read the works of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao. Take time to find and read The Communist Manifesto (it is easily found on the internet) … it may as well have been written by Howard Dean. There is only one problem with a dictatorship of the proletariat taking place…you have to have a proletariat! {Proletariat: The class of industrial wage earners who, possessing neither capital nor production means, must earn their living by selling their labor.}
We do not have a proletariat class as described by Marx. In fact, Russia and China did not have a large industrial class of workers when their communist revolutions took place. No matter what the Democrats and Liberals have to say in our modern day United States, we do not have any large oppressed classes of people. I am not saying that there are no unhappy Americans … we all know that is not the case. However, let us not forget that all Americans are free and may possess property and capital and participate as much or as little in the free-market and government as they choose.
We are currently being railroaded by Statist in the likes of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders, on a pathway to hardship. What do all of them have in common? … they are Democrats and only one of them has the honesty to proclaim himself a Socialist. Republicans are not blameless; however, it appears that they have seen the danger of the Statist and have decided to be obstructionist at a time when we need them to be.
Thomas Jefferson said “a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing” … and at times like these, a necessary thing. This is my call to arms. Not in armed conflict with fellow Americans, but an engagement, armed in truth and honest information. We must re-educate Americans on our Constitution, and the reasons why there is a United States. We must show them the blessing of liberty we have received from having freedom of religion as well as from free-market capitalism. We must show reluctant Democrats the failure of their leaderships ways and that it is time for them to abandon ship and save the United Stated from unnecessary harm.
There you have it.

Eric Holder Must Go
The Attorney General is not elected, he does not serve by the will of the people he serves at the will of the President. However, we cannot only blame the President for appointing him to office…we must hold the Senate accountable as well. Both sides of the Upper House of Congress approved him; therefore, Republicans share as much of the blame as Obama does … including the two close friends: Senator John McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham … is it any wonder why John McCain is not now President McCain?
Mr. Holder may be an even worse Attorney General than Janet Reno. Remember her? Does anyone care about her or where she is now? Of course not - she was that bad. Mr. Holder was Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno, he worked for and obtained pardons for Puerto Rican FALN bomb making, murdering terrorist of the 1970’s, in spite of objections by the Justice Department not to. He helped with the Mark Rich pardon, a tax cheat and fraud broker that also traded with Iran during the Hostage Crisis. Mark Rich is a traitor. These are bad people and he helped pardon them. Mr. Holder has stopped action against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation tactics in Philadelphia. He is going to bring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) to New York City for trial … a trial he could well lose, and one that will put the people of New York City in peril. He wants to investigate the former President and Vice President, as well as the CIA for criminal charges relating to terrorist interrogation. Why?
Exactly whose side is Mr. Holder on? He works for President Obama, so I must assume the things he has done and is doing now meet with the President’s approval. Recent news stories indicated that Mr. Holder did not consult with security officials before making his decision to bring the KSM trial to New York. Why would he do such a thing … and why would Mr. Obama allow it? These men are dangerous. Will Americans have to be killed here at home again before men like Holder and Obama are held to task?
Eric Holder is a threat to the safety and security of us all. He has worked to release killers and thugs for political purposes and takes sight on those that are sworn to protect us for that same reason .. in doing so, we are left unsafe. Why would any agent with the CIA, the FBI, or Homeland Security trust the Department of Justice with him in charge? … I wouldn’t. Put yourself in their shoes … how comfortable would you be with an Attorney General who has worked actively and enthusiastly to pardon murdering terrorist and traitors and who has also worked equally as hard to punish people who work to protect us from harm? With him in charge, there is always the threat of prosecution for protecting you and me.
President Obama and Mr. Holder are forcing inefficiency into the security apparatus and military components that protect us. They cannot effectively protect us if they fear being fired or charged with a crime for doing their job. I’m sure there will be times when an action will not be taken out of indecision or from frustration with the current administration. I think that is what happened in Fort Hood and that is why Navy SEALs are being court-martialed now. That is not good for America. Eric Holder must go … before he strikes again.

I Turned 28 For The Twentieth Time
I turned 48 years old on December 2nd. What a birthday I had. First I wake up and find a birthday card from Lisa (my wife) and a copy of Sarah Palin’s new book waiting for me by the coffee pot. Then, Emily (my little girl) gave me a great hand made birthday card that was lovingly thought out. Next, I got to go to the Get Motivated seminar courtesy of my employer. Lastly, I stopped by Will Hurd’s home for a campaign session with other supporters. Not a bad birthday, I’d say.
I’ve been to a few motivational seminars over the years and have found them to be overrated, but not the Get Motivated seminar … it was GREAT … the absolute best I’ve ever been too. I saw a side of General Colin Powel that I did not know existed … he was funny, informative, and he even poked fun at himself. Terry Bradshaw killed us … he was funnier than on TV. But I must say that being in the same place with President George W. Bush was an honor and a privilege I will never forget. I have to admit, I got a little choked up (he is the only President I have ever admitted loving).
There you have it, I loved President Bush (still do) and I think history will treat him well in spite of the economic evens that happened at the end of his second term. How refreshing it was to see him again. He spoke for about a half hour, not from a teleprompter but from the heart, alone on stage with a microphone in his hand and a smile on his face. He talked about prayer. He said when he was young he did not put much weight into prayer, but as he matured he turned to prayer. He said that although he could not prove it, he believes it was the prayers form the American people that helped sustain him. He talked about his father’s unconditional love for him and how we as fathers need to love our children unconditionally. He told us that, in spite of how things appear today, the United Stated is still the greatest country on earth and that we are the most blessed country the world has ever known. He told us that Americans can still pursue there dreams and achieve them, more so than in any country, and that government will not make them come true … we just have to do the work to accomplish them. Government has a role, but it needs to be limited and unintrusive. What a difference he is from President Obama.
Mr. Obama believes that government has the answers to all our troubles, yet it carries most of the blame for the mess that we are in. Mr. Bush credits the U.S. for making the world a safer better place. Mr. Obama apologizes to the world and begs for forgiveness for making it safer. Mr. Bush worked with Democrats. Mr. Obama leaves out the Republicans. Mr. Bush took part in every national day of prayer … Mr. Obama, this year, did not. Mr. Bush acknowledged the faith Americans have in God and his personal faith in Jesus when he was in office. Mr. Obama says we are not a Christina nation but merely a nation of laws and does not honor Jesus now that he is the President. Mr. Bush kept terrorist captive in Guantanamo Bay. Mr. Obama thinks it is a good idea to bring the worst of them to New York City and endanger the Hudson Bay.
Will Hurd, whom I am supporting for Congress and have offered to do volunteer work for, is the same kind of American as President Bush and I. Will believes in the country just as much (if not more) than I do. After all, he’s served the country in the CIA and now is ready to serve in the U. S. Congress if elected. I love our country, but have never served it. Will speaks from the heart … I have yet seen him use prepared text when he speaks before a gathering. I have been ridiculed for being a conservative and supporting Republicans for years by other Hispanics, and I’m sure Will gets some of the same treatment from other African-Americans for the same reason. Yet I believe the reason Republicans are appealing to us is because we have not allowed ourselves to be mislead by the false promises and failed policies Democrats have been behind. I also believe that culturally, the Republicans (especially conservatives) more closely hold and encourage the same values that Blacks and Hispanics have always held dear. From our love of family, belief in marriage, and faith in God, to our commitment for a better future for our children and grandchildren. The Democrats often scoff at these core values or, at minimum, refer to them as old fashion … I don’t think they’re old fashion, and I take it personally when they are scoffed at. It was nice to be with others willing to lend him a hand with his campaign on my birthday.
I left the seminar with renewed faith in our country … not just from what the former President said, but from all of the speakers. It was the most pro-American, pro-faith event I have been to (including the Tea Party in front of the Alamo). It helps to know that my conservative point of view is in line with such great Americans. We should not be ashamed of our country or of our faith in God. It was even more encouraging to me to see that the thousands that were there in attendance felt the same way. I did not hear one moan, or groan, or even a sigh from anyone around me. Surely we were not all conservatives. Large sections were sent by there employers just as I was, and yet there seemed to be a harmony of thought and agreement in the air. It was an over all uplifting experience. Like I said in the beginning…what a birthday I had.
There you have it.
Pass it along if you like or let me know if I don’t have a clue.
