Left Wing Confusion

I got into a political exchange on Facebook a couple of days ago. I stated that I would rather be on the right and correct than on the left and confused. This exchange really got me thinking … one should be able to back-up a statement (or point of view) like that with a good argument.

Confusion, to my mind, is an uncertainty of thought, or a inability to understand something clearly. I used same sex marriage in my Facebook exchange as one example of left-wing confusion. Most societies (including ours) have understood marriage as being between one man and one woman. This concept should not have to be explained to anyone … that is, unless your are confused. Marriage (in western culture) has not needed to be explained or defended as anything other than one man and one woman. We don’t have to debate what the definition of is … is. Gay marriage is being forced onto the majority of Americans … not by the will of the people, but by the will of a small number of left-wing judges.

I also believe (just as our founding fathers did) that our rights come from God, not from government … American history is clear on that. Our forefathers used terms such as “divine providence” and “endowed by our creator” in reference to God … not mother earth, the universe, a monarch, or (least of all) government. The left has confused that notion to such an extent that many Americans have become inclined to conceal their faith in God to avoid ridicule.

Currently the left is confused as to who’s the bad guys and who’s the good guys. They attack our military and intelligence agencies as being brutal and thuggish, yet fail to recognize that our enemy is brutal, thuggish, cruel and uses terrorism to kill us. Even though they attack with an effort to kill anyone and as many as possible, we fight them with a concentrated effort to avoid as much unnecessary killing as possible. The left forgets that the best way to fight fire is with fire. It puts us all in danger to confuse the good guys from the bad guys.

Our left-wing President and his Attorney General have decided to put Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), the mastermind of 9-11 and the highest ranking terrorist we have captured , on trial in New York City. If putting him to trial on our soil is such a great idea, why not try him in Washington D.C? Why not? … because they are confused, not stupid. The President and Attorney general have so confused their responsibilities to the American people and the citizens of New York from their personal ideals that they cannot see the danger in their actions. Having KSM in New York and not expecting something bad to happens is like putting Bonnie & Clyde in a bank and not expecting it to get robbed. Foolishness!

New York is as much a target for additional terrorism today as it was on 9/11 … with KSM in town it will only become more so. It is not hard to imagine a homicide bomber making his way to the building and setting off a bomb … he wouldn’t even have to make it inside. Or how about Al Qaeda setting off a dirty bomb in Manhattan or some lone sleeper cell like Major Hasan “losing it” at just the right time. There is no room for left wing confusion in matters of security.

Left wing confusion has been costly to our national culture and security. They often resort to accusation when they cannot effectively defend a position. They say that they are for freedom of choice and that those on the right are not. They say they are for letting people be people and that they do not want someone else’s morality imposed on them. I think it is more correct to say that those on the left are the ones trying to impose their version of morality (or immorality) and government onto the rest of us … and it is them that are intolerant, closed-minded and arrogant.

There you have it.
Pass it on if you like or let me know if I dont have a clue.

Eddie
